MEP Design: Building Analysis Services
Building History: Overlooking the Ohio River in the historical city of Madison, Indiana, Eagles Cotton Mill has stood the test of time. Built-in 1884, this four-story building that takes up a whole city block has been standing vacant since the 1980's. In 2013, Indiana Landmarks added Eagle Cotton Mill to its list of the 10 Most Endangered Landmarks. Today, with the help from Building Analysis Service, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott has brought new life into this historic building. With 85 rooms, a conference center, guest amenities, a ballroom, and enhanced outdoor spaces with views of the Ohio River, it is a beautiful addition to the cities historical district.
Building Analysis Services Responsibilities:
Construction Management: Oversight of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection contractors to ensure installation conforms with the design intent. Coordinate all trades installation and responsibilities. Resolve existing building conflicts with new systems. Check the operation of new systems to ensure functionality.
Plumbing Design: Design of new domestic water entry services, new sanitary waste and vent system, new grease waste system, hot water distribution system, and domestic water booster system for two kitchens and 85 hotel rooms /suites.
Mechanical Design: Design a new mechanical Variable Refrigerant Flow system (VRF) outside air system, exhaust and ventilation system, and building automation system for hotel rooms and public areas.
Electrical Design: Design a new electrical service for general power to hotel rooms and public areas, new fire pump and generator, new building power layouts for equipment, fire alarm system, battery inverter system for emergency lighting, and design site lighting for landscape and parking areas.
